KEAN, RIBLE & ANGELINI KICK OFF CAMPAIGN
WILL FIGHT TO MAKE MONMOUTH
COUNTY MORE AFFORDABLE
11th
District legislative candidates Sean Kean, Dave Rible
and Mary Pat Angelini kicked of their campaign today at
the landmark Circus Drive-In in Wall.
Elected
officials and supporters enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs
as the candidates detailed their plans to make Monmouth
County more affordable.
Assemblyman Sean Kean who is running for the State
Senate seat being vacated by Senator Joseph Palaia said
his time in the Legislature has demonstrated that the
Democrat majorities in Trenton are not interested in
doing what is necessary to reduce taxes.
“In the
past five years under Democrat control, state spending
has ballooned by nearly $10 billion,” he said. “The
Democrats running Trenton continue to ask the
overburdened taxpayers to foot the bill for their
spending addiction.”
Kean
cited the Democrat proposal to sell the state’s toll
roads as an example of the poor decision making that has
led to outrageous tax increases and has placed the state
in a precarious financial position.
“The
fact that Democrats are even considering selling state
assets like the Garden State Parkway illustrates how
desperate they are to feed their spending habit,” he
said.
Angelini
and Rible are running for the Assembly seats currently
held by Kean and Assemblyman Steve Corodemus who is
retiring.
A former
Wall Township police officer and successful small
business owner, Rible said he wants to go to Trenton to
reduce spending and cut the taxes that are making it
hard for taxpayers and businesses to afford to remain in
New Jersey.
“Throughout Monmouth County businesses and taxpayers are
struggling to pay constantly increasing taxes,” he said.
“We need to reduce spending and cut the outrageous taxes
that are devastating the residents of Monmouth County.”
Angelini,
of Ocean Township, is the executive director of a
non-profit agency that seeks to prevent drug and alcohol
abuse. She said she is especially concerned with
reducing property taxes.
“I think
I speak for all of the taxpayers when I say ‘Enough is
enough,’” she said. “Monmouth County’s taxpayers cannot
keep up with the dramatic increases in their property
taxes and we will continue to see more and more people
leaving the state for more affordable locations.”
All
three candidates slammed the Democrats tax relief plan
and agreed that the state needs to reduce spending in
order to cut taxes. They all endorsed the Assembly
Republican plan that would provide up to a 30% tax cut
to all taxpayers by cutting state spending by $1.5
billion.
“The
recent ‘reform’ plan offered by the Democrats is nothing
more than an election year gimmick,” said Kean. “New
Jersey’s taxpayers are not going to be bought off by a
tax ‘relief’ plan that is paid for by raising taxes.”
“The
taxpayers are tired of all the gimmicks,” said Angelini.
“Instead of election year rebates that cannot be
sustained, we need real reform that will let the
taxpayers keep more of their hard earned money in their
pockets.”
“Monmouth County taxpayers begging for relief have been
rewarded with nothing but bloated budgets and higher
taxes,” said Rible. “Time and time again, the Democrats
running Trenton have failed to deliver the tax relief we
so desperately need.”
The
candidates said they look forward to meeting with voters
to discuss their plan to make Monmouth County more
affordable. They also urged voters to learn more about
them by visiting their website,
