WITH TRANSPORTATION, LAW & HEALTH ISSUES
Senator Sean T. Kean, Assemblyman David Rible
and Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini, who represent the 11th
Legislative District, have been selected to serve on several
influential Senate and Assembly Committees. The leaders of
the Senate and General Assembly have announced the chair
persons and members to serve on each of the Senate and
Assembly committees for the 2008-2009 Legislative Session.
Senator Kean will serve on the Senate Transportation
Committee and the Labor Committee. Senator Kean has previous
experience with transportation issues having served on the
Assembly Transportation, Public Works and Independent
Authorities Committee.
"New Jersey is facing many critical transportation issues
right now," said Senator Sean T. Kean. "The Governor’s
proposal to monetize the state’s toll roads, securing
funding for the Transportation Trust Fund, and maintaining
and increasing the safety of our state’s bridges are
paramount concerns for 2008."
Assemblyman David Rible has been selected to serve on the
Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee and the Homeland
Security and State Preparedness Committee. As a former
police officer, Assemblyman Rible believes his previous
experience and law enforcement background will benefit him
on these Committees.
"Having served as police officer, I will bring a unique
perspective to the Law and Public Safety Committee and
Homeland Security and State Preparedness Committee,"
remarked Assemblyman Rible. "I know the dangers that law
enforcement and first responders face every day and how
crucial their job is to protecting the well being and safety
of all New Jersey residents."
Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini has been selected to serve
on the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee as well
as the Commerce and Economic Development Committee.
Assemblywoman Angelini currently works as the executive
director of a nonprofit agency dedicated to preventing youth
substance abuse and violence. In addition, she has also held
various positions in both the mental health and substance
abuse prevention field.
"My background in mental health and substance abuse
prevention will greatly benefit me on the Assembly Health
and Senior Services Committee. Throughout my career I have
worked to improve peoples’ health and I understand the
importance of physical and mental health for all New
Jerseyans," said Assemblywoman Angelini.
The District 11 legislators are pleased to be named to such
influential committees that will consider important
legislation which will shape the direction of New Jersey.
